Chifundo Inclusive Secondary School

You will be volunteering at Chifundo Inclusive Secondary School in Ngabu, southern Malawi. The school provides an inclusive learning environment for young people from a range of backgrounds, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for girls, learners with disabilities and those who may otherwise face barriers to accessing secondary education.

Your Project

As a Volunteer at Chifundo Inclusive Secondary School, you’ll become part of a welcoming school community, working alongside local teachers and staff to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

Your role could involve supporting classroom teaching as well as getting involved with sports, creative activities and other school programmes. You’ll have time to get to know the pupils, teachers and routines of the school, while bringing your own ideas, skills and enthusiasm to the placement.

Chifundo places a strong emphasis on inclusion and personal development alongside academic education. You’ll work with young people of different abilities and backgrounds, helping to create an environment where pupils can develop their confidence, practical skills and interests.

Life at Chifundo extends beyond the classroom. Building relationships and becoming involved in the wider school community will be an important part of your placement, giving you the opportunity to learn from those around you while sharing your own experiences and ideas.

Accommodation

You’ll live in secure and comfortable accommodation within convenient reach of the school, giving you the opportunity to experience everyday life within the local community.

Your living allowance provided by Project Trust will cover your daily living costs.
