PKO Battambang

You will be volunteering at Puthi Komar Organization (PKO) in Cambodia at Advance International School, a community-driven educational institution.

Your Project

Founded in 2005, the Puthi Komar Organization (PKO) was established with a vision to transform the lives of vulnerable communities in Cambodia.

PKO employs a holistic, community-driven approach, recognizing the interconnected challenges faced by vulnerable groups. By providing access to quality education, essential healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods, the organization empowers families and communities to build supportive and nurturing environments where every child and young person can thrive. Programs are carefully tailored to the specific needs of each community, ensuring that efforts lead to long-term development and brighter futures.

At the heart of PKO’s mission is the belief in dignity and well-being for all—a vision that continues to guide their work in creating opportunities and transforming lives across Cambodia.

You will be specifically volunteering at the Advance International School managed by Puthi Komar Organization. Initially funded by Christian Solidarity International of Luxembourg, the school successfully transitioned to a self-sustaining model in 2024. The school offers high-quality Khmer and English Kindergarten, as well as an English Primary curriculum.

As a volunteer you will  play a dynamic role in bringing language and the arts to life for the students, this will involve; delivering engaging, age-appropriate English lessons for Kindergarten and Primary school children; designing and facilitate interactive play, music, and leisure activities that promote holistic development; collaborate with local educators to share teaching methods and support a vibrant classroom environment; Assist in cultivating a joyful, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence.

There will also be the opportunity to grow your role as a volunteer with PKO and get involved in secondary projects with the organisation should your skills and experience match up with one of their many iniatives.
