You will be volunteering at Ladybird Private School in Blantyre, in Southern Malawi.

Your Project

Ladybird is a school based in Manja, Blantyre, Malawi. The staff here are committed to giving students a solid start in life, despite working with limited resources and basic facilities. Their focus is on building confidence, developing skills, and opening up opportunities for the future. 

You’ll be teaching a range of students aged 5 to 15 in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Social Studies. You’ll work alongside local teachers and have the chance to bring your own approach to the classroom. 

You will also have the opportunity to get involved in extra-curricular activities like sports and drama. These will be a great way to connect with students outside the classroom and support their personal development. 

At this project, you will build strong relationships with the staff and make a lasting impact on the young people you teach. 

Accommodation

Your accommodation and living space will be a short walk from your project. You will share a house and kitchen with your host’s domestic worker. You and your partner will share a bedroom and bathroom.

Your living allowance provided by Project Trust will cover your daily living costs.
