Wlitey R C Primary School

You will be teaching at Wlitey R C Primary School, located outside Akatsi in the Volta region of Ghana. 

Your Project

You will be teaching English as well as other subjects like Maths, ICT and Science as well as running extra-curricular clubs. This primary school has limited facilities, but an active and interested staff team. You will need to use your initiative and energy to support the learning of the students in your community. 

The school was established in 1925 by the Roman Catholic Church. The school is made up of pupils from eleven adjourning communities and currently has over 450 students.

With the primary school, taking on classes can mean quite a variety of things, depending on your interests and the needs of the students. Basic literacy is a challenge for the younger students, the school has introduced differentiated lessons in order to support the students.  Extracurricular activities are strongly encouraged.

This is a new and exciting project that will demand dedication, initiative, and creativity.

Accommodation

You will live in a two-bedroom house opposite the school. You will have access to clean water and electricity is generally available.

Your living allowance is provided by Project Trust and will cover your daily living costs
