You will be teaching at East Ridge Junior High School near the district town of Anloga in the Volta region of Ghana.
You will be teaching English as well as other subjects like Maths, ICT, Creative Arts and running extra-curricular clubs. Many of the volunteers split their time between a junior high school and a primary school. You will s we need you to use your initiative and energy to throw yourselves into all the opportunities in your community.
Volunteers often travel to nearby Akatsi when they are in need of a break from small-community living and you can expect it to become your one-stop-shop for picking up essentials when you are running low as well as checking your emails at the weekend.
This project demands dedication, initiative and creativity. You will have the opportunity to provide individual tuition, set up arts, music or sports clubs as well as additional teaching outside of your normal routine.
The villages you will be working in are rural and have basic facilities, often with long drop toilets. You will however have access to clean water and electricity is generally available.
Your living allowance provided by Project Trust will cover your daily living costs.
