St. Nicholas Anglican College
St. Nicholas Anglican College is one of the largest schools in the Solomon Islands, based in the capital city of Honiara. The College has over 1,000 Secondary pupils, over 1,000 Primary pupils and around 320 Early Years students.
Your Project
As a Volunteer at St. Nicholas Anglican College, you’ll have the opportunity to work within either the Primary or Secondary school, supporting pupils across a range of subjects.
Depending on the needs of the school, you could be teaching subjects including Maths, IT, English and Science. With such a large school community, you’ll have the chance to work with pupils of different ages and become part of a busy and lively learning environment.
Living and volunteering in Honiara will also give you the opportunity to experience life in the capital of the Solomon Islands and immerse yourself in the local community.
Accommodation
You’ll live at Chester Rest House in central Honiara, which is run by the Melanesian Brothers. The Rest House provides comfortable, safe and secure accommodation, and you’ll have your own separate unit within a busy communal environment.
You’ll travel to and from school using the Church bus. You’ll be responsible for buying and preparing your own food, with plenty of opportunities to shop locally in Honiara.
Your living allowance provided by Project Trust will cover your daily living costs.
