Fully Funded Placement Bursary

Read on for details around who can apply, how to apply, and when you’ll find out if you’ve been successful.

We have secured the funding to cover the fundraising costs for one Volunteer in our 2026/27 cohort.

This means that the fundraising target (£7,450 for Immersive or £6,850 for Focused) has already been pledged by the generous contributions of our sponsors.

For the successful applicant, your fundraising is guaranteed for you, but please note this placement does not include a stipend or grant to cover personal costs (outlined here).

In order to apply, you need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Have been offered a place on our 2026/27 cohorts (Immersive for departure in August/September 2026, or Focused for departure in January 2027).
  1. Be eligible for one or more of our Access Fund Bursary criteria which can be found here

You can apply if you have already started fundraising, and you can apply if you have already received Access Fund support from us.

To apply, complete the application form below, which will ask you for:

  • Basic personal information.
  • Which of our Access Fund criteria you meet, and outline how you meet these criteria.
  • An uploaded reference in support of you applying for the fully-funded placement from a referee (not a family member or friend).

A letter to the panel outlining why, in your words, you think you should receive this placement.

You need to have attended Selection and been offered a place with us by 14th June 2026. We cannot offer the funded placement to someone who has not been through our rigorous Selection process.

You must obtain the reference and your own personal cover letter, and upload them to the application form by June 30th, 2026.

We will give all applicants a response no later than the end of July 2026.

Anyone who applies for our fully funded placement is eligible for our Access Fund Bursary, through which we can typically offer up to 50% of your fundraising target depending on your circumstances.

For the remaining amount we will offer you 1-1 fundraising support to help you plan and execute fundraising ideas, and apply for grant funding from other charitable bodies. You will need to be ready to take control of your fundraising efforts, but we will be there to help you every step of the way.

Please note: if you have not already attended a Selection course or Interview, you must apply to Volunteer with Project Trust separately. You are encouraged to say in your application that you also wish to apply for the fully-funded placement.
