Your Project
Honour Village was previously a residential Home for over 50 children who have now been successfully placed with families and carers in the local community. Honour Village now offers education opportunities in English and Khmer to over 500 children. Situated on the edge of Siem Reap Cambodia’s second largest city. Know for vibrant restaurants and bars scene, along with numerous yoga studios and the world famous Angkor Wat.
Your role will be primarily to act as a teaching assistant to national teachers and professional or long term teaching staff. You may also get the opportunity to lead your own classes as you become more confident and practised as a teacher.
In addition to working as a teaching assistant you can get involved as a play leader to help English and social learning experience for the students, working in the library, cleaning and redecorating, playing ball games, reading stories to small groups, enjoying a picture book or joining in with a jigsaw puzzle. Volunteers are expected to be highly motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities to apply their enthusiasm, skills and strengths at the project.
Accommodation
You will be living in the accommodation close to the school and will catering for yourselves, you will have a large shared room with adjoining bathroom that has a western toilet and cold shower.
