How to Apply for Project Trust

The first stage of your Project Trust volunteer placement is to complete the online Application Form (which can be found by scrolling down this page). If you are unsure about any aspect of the Application process, then please give us a call on 01879 230444 or drop us an email with any questions that you have.

Things to consider before applying…

Project Trust specialises in voluntary Gap Year placements for school-leavers aged 17-19. If you do not fall within this age group, or have left school more than two years ago, unfortunately you are not eligible to volunteer with Project Trust.

In your Application Form we’ll ask you to write about your academic achievements, extra-curricular activities and interests and motivation for volunteering overseas. Please ensure that you write at least 200 words on your motivation for volunteering.

Due to the nature of our overseas placements we require our applicants to have met a minimum grade requirement. For Scottish applicants you will need a minimum of 5 National 5 qualifications A-C, including English, and to be sitting/sat at least 3 Highers in Fifth Year. For English, Welsh and Northern Irish applicants you will need a minimum of 6 GCSES A-C, including English, and to be sitting A Level exams or equivalent. If you are not sitting any of the above qualifications but have alternatives that are equivalent or of similar standard as the above, please include those in your application.

If you have or a currently facing any extenuating circumstances that have prevented you from meeting our minimum grade requirement, please make us aware of that in your application and we will take that into consideration.

If you have any questions about any part of the application process please do not hesitate to get in contact with a member of the team on 01879 230110.

If you aren’t eligible to Volunteer with Project Trust for any of the above reasons, there are many more opportunities for you to volunteer overseas with. A good place to start is at the Year Out Group website. We wish you the best of luck with finding a suitable voluntary placement.

After submitting your Application…

Once we’ve processed your Application Form we’ll let you know whether you’ve been successful or not. If you are successful, we’ll invite you to book on to a Selection course. Please don’t try to book on to a Selection course until we’ve processed your Application Form.

Once you’re booked on to Selection you can get ready for a week on Coll: we look forward to seeing you here. If you have not heard from us within seven days of applying, please call the office on 01879 230444.
